Shares still available in our Exciting 2013 Investec Derby entry Nelson's Victory.

Nelson is a promising 3yo Colt from the prolific winning Green Desert, Danzig, Northern Dancer Bloodline, He is by Green Horizon (By Green Desert) out of First Class Girl (By Charmer), He was a very late foal born on 27th June 2010 but stands at 16.2 hands already and is sure to make at least 17 hands, He is a very lively Colt and can be a handful at times but they say the querky ones are the best and we are hoping this is true in Nelson's case, He'll make a smashing 3yo once he strengthens up and fills his huge frame but we are still hoping that he can run as a 2yo in a decent backend Maiden race over 1m in September or October, Only time will tell but we do think he's a nice horse so we will not rush him, He is currently at Dianna Grissell's yard in East Sussex where he is being prepared for racing before being sent to Jane Chapple-Hyam in Newmarket. He is now in Newmarket.

Please take the time to look at Nelson's Videos and Photo Gallery, We have tried to document his life in pictures and video so that you can get to know him, I feel it is more exciting when you can follow a horse from birth on his journey to becoming a Racehorse, Here we will take you through the ups and downs we have had from the excitement of him arriving at dawn sunday 27th June 2010, The worry of his mother having to have colic surgery 5 weeks later and nearly losing Nelson when he was 6 weeks old, The brilliant recovery both mare and foal made, The enjoyment we got from watching Nelson buzzing around like a mad thing through his foal and yearling stage, The dark months of box rest and not knowing if we still had a horse or not then seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, We are now at the stage where Nelson is being broken and prepared to go into a flat racing yard so things are getting very exciting now, I will keep the story going with new pictures and videos on our Road To Victory.

2.5% shares are £150 then £70 per month, We bred Nelson ourselves and have tried to make the shares affordable by keeping everything at cost, Basically what we charge per month is what it will cost to keep him in Training including Vet, Farrier, Transport, Entry Fee's and Jockey Fee's etc, If you would like to become involved and live the dream with us please get in touch.

Nelson was due to to be broken last october but met with a setback, Basically he grew very quickly and that caused a slight problem with a growth plate in his hind leg causing him a little discomfort and slight lameness, As a result we had to take him off the high powered feed he was on and put him on box rest for 3 months followed by gentle exercise and confining him to a small paddock for another month to stop him running around so much as he is such a lively horse, This was all done at Di Grissell's in East Sussex, Nelson is still at Di's yard where he is being broken, Di and Gardie Grissell were highly recommended to me by the stud farm where Nelson's sire is and also in a recent coversation with top trainer John Gosden, John told me that i had placed Nelson in the best hands by sending him to Mrs Grissell, Nelson has shown no signs of lameness since he has been with the Grissell's, They have done a fantastic job in looking after him, Bringing him along slowly, He seems to have made a full recovery and the vets are happy with him, So i would like to say a big thank you to Diana & Gardie Grissell and all the brilliant staff at Brightling Park for preparing Nelson so well before he goes to Newmarket trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam to start his flat racing career.

Nelson's Dam First Class Girl

Nelson's Dam First Class Girl (Princess) is by Charmer who only just failed to get up in the 2000 Guineas, He was catching Doyoun hand over fist and was unlucky not to get up, Her Dam Boulevard Girl won 4 races all over 2m including a valuable handicap at York, First Class Girl only had 3 runs over inadequete trips then was retired from racing due to an ongoing foot injury, She is a huge mare standing at 16.3 hands, A long bodied sort who would would probably have wanted a lot further than the trips she was raced over, She is a gentle giant, She is lovely, We still have her at home, That is her in the picture on the left.

Nelson's Sire Green Horizon

Nelson's Sire Green Horizon is an unraced son of the great sire Green Desert who is also the sire of Cape Cross (Sire of Sea The Stars), Invincible Spirit and Oasis Dream, Green Desert himself really ran into one when 2nd in the 2000 Guineas to the great Dancing Brave, Green Horizon's Dam Well Beyond was a high class filly winning several races including a Listed race at Ascot, Green Horizon was definately bred with the 2000 Guineas in mind by the late Maktoum Al Maktoum (Elder brother of Sheikh Mohammed), but injured a fetlock as a young horse and never saw the racecourse, He has had limited opportunities at stud but is responsible for a 9 times winner in Scandinavia and promising horse trained in France who has also won, He is currently covering more thoroughbred mares and his young stock all look like good strong types, Green Horizon himself looks more like his Grand sire Danzig than his Sire Green Desert, He stands at 16.1 hands and is a bull of a horse. That's him in the picture on the left.
